Due to flooding in January 2024 of the ground floor, the Manor had to close to allow repairs. This is not the first time the Manor has been hit by floods but not on the scale seen this time. The estate offices, next to the Manor back out on to fields which frequently become lakes after heavy rain. Indeed in recent years the estate offices have seen their fair share of water ingress.
It is was hoped the Manor would have reopened in time for Christmas 2025, unfortunately that was not the case. It is now hoped to reopen in the spring of this year - 2026, with a new theme since the BBC project has since been removed. Just what that new theme will look like, is a closely guarded secret.
I am pleased to announce the Manor is now open, with a new look. Gone are all BBC fittings and decor. Now the Manor is empty with just information boards in all rooms. Upstairs has, dare I say it, become a play area for kids.
Feedback has been generally positive from those visitors who never saw the BBC project. However, those that did have given varied feedback, from not as good to it's okay.
